"Working with Charlotte at Tide & Trace was a really enjoyable experience. She was professional, and turned the website around really quickly as I had a bit of time pressure to get it done. My website has ended up looking and feeling just the way I wanted. I really appreciated the wee video tutorials Charlotte sent me if I had a question of a problem. Highly recommend!" WHO ARE YARNS BY MOUNT TIBBY?

THE BRAND STORY

Yarns by Mount Tibby is a boutique NZ brand born from the hills of King Country, New Zealand. Founded by Dani, the brand combines rural heritage with timeless design, sharing the authenticity and craftsmanship of New Zealand wool with both local and international audiences.

Yarns by Mount Tibby produce 100% lambswool blankets woven from their own flock, from shearing to weaving, these blankets go through their whole journey from start to finish, right here on NZ soil!

HOW DID THEY GET HERE?

With growing interest from overseas markets and a loyal following at home, Dani needed a professional online presence that could tell her story, elevate her brand, and make purchasing easy - on a global scale.

The existing visual identity was a solo logo, it lacked a defined colour palette and typography, a logo suite, and there was no digital footprint in place. The goal was to build a cohesive brand and Shopify website that reflected the natural, down-to-earth story behind Yarns by Mount Tibby.

THE DELIVERABLES

THE PROCESS

We share the process we undertook from start to finish, how Dani as the client felt on the journey and the wins we had on the way.

STEP 1

BRAND REFINEMENT

We refined the logo and built a cohesive visual system with earthy tones and natural textures inspired by King Country landscapes.
Fonts were chosen for calmness and clarity, capturing the boutique, relaxed feel.
We also created a logomark for the favicon — a personal touch Dani loved: “The A is perfect — it ties in with both our names!”

STEP 2

SHOPIFY WEBSITE BUILD

Using Shopify’s Craft theme, we created a clean, story-led site that reflects the brand’s roots and farm-to-home values. The 5-page build included product listings, NZ + international shipping, automated emails, analytics setup, and SEO/AEO optimisation to ensure visibility and sales-readiness.

Every element was designed for ease of use, allowing the brand to scale confidently as online sales grow.

STEP 3

LAUNCH & POST-LAUNCH

We managed a smooth launch and provided training handover videos allowing Dani to easily jump in to make basic changes such as editing images, text, adding new products, check performance analytics, and utilise marketing tools.

Follow-up support focused on SEO checks, content advice, and empowering Dani to confidently run and grow her store.

What challenge were you facing before working with Tide & Trace?

“I wanted to create the website myself, but I was finding Shopify difficult to navigate. I also didn’t feel like I could get the design side of it quite how I wanted.”

Before we started, how did you feel about your brand and online presence?

Well... I didn’t really have one, but I was happy with the start I’d made with the logo.”

Did the colour palette, typography, and tone feel aligned with your vision and story?

“Yes, very much so. I love the look of it.”

How have others reacted to your new website and branding?

“I’ve had a lot of really positive feedback that the website is professional, elegant, and portrays our story in a really authentic way.”

What made you decide to go with Tide & Trace for this project?

“A referral from a friend of mine, and I knew you’d worked for Rocketspark. Being one of your first builds, I knew you’d want to nail it, and you had time to do it straight away.”

Would you recommend Tide & Trace to other small businesses?

“Yes, for sure. Beautiful websites, easy to work with, and you know your way around Shopify really well!”

How did you find the website build process from start to finish?

“Very easy and quick. Charlotte communicated throughout the process, so I always had a good idea of what was coming up and how much more was needed until we could launch. It was great having a clear timeframe to work to.”
