THE BRAND STORY


Yarns by Mount Tibby is a boutique NZ brand born from the hills of King Country, New Zealand. Founded by Dani, the brand combines rural heritage with timeless design, sharing the authenticity and craftsmanship of New Zealand wool with both local and international audiences.

Yarns by Mount Tibby produce 100% lambswool blankets woven from their own flock, from shearing to weaving, these blankets go through their whole journey from start to finish, right here on NZ soil!

HOW DID THEY GET HERE?

THE CHALLENGE


With growing interest from overseas markets and a loyal following at home, Dani needed a professional online presence that could tell her story, elevate her brand, and make purchasing easy - on a global scale.

The existing visual identity was a solo logo, it lacked a defined colour palette and typography, a logo suite, and there was no digital footprint in place. The goal was to build a cohesive brand and Shopify website that reflected the natural, down-to-earth story behind Yarns by Mount Tibby.

STEP 1

BRAND REFINEMENT


We refined the existing logo designed by Sarah Roche, a family friend in Tauranga, developing a supporting visual system including colour palette, typography, and a brand guideline to ensure consistency across all touchpoints.

The palette drew inspiration from the natural tones of King Country landscapes and the warmth of lambswool, earthy neutrals, soft sage, and warm brown accents.

We went with fonts that spoke to the calmness of the website, complimenting the relaxed and boutique feeling we we’re after.

We deconstructed the logo, pulling out a logomark for the Favicon, which Dani loved this design, saying “I was just having another look and I love what you’ve done pulling the ‘A’ out of Yarns. Funnily enough my real name is Adana, and my husband is Anthony, so the A is perfect!”

The Process



STEP 2

SHOPIFY BUILD


Built on Shopify’s Craft theme, the site was customised to reflect the brand’s tone and connection to the farm, clean, natural, and story-driven.

We created a 5 page website, with fundamentals for e-commerce including:

  • 4 product listings with size and colour variants

  • Shipping setup (NZ & international)

  • Email automations (welcome, abandoned cart, newsletter signup)

  • Google Analytics and Google My Business connections

  • SEO & AEO optimisation across all pages
